Virtual Care FAQ’s
What is a virtual visit?
An Access Connected Care Virtual Visit allows a patient to receive care for minor illnesses by video or phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This service is ideal for the same types of non-emergent health needs typically treated at express care and walk-in clinics.
How does a Virtual Visit work?
A virtual visit takes place via live video conference, allowing patients and providers to communicate in real time. This service is conducted using the MDLive platform, a secure tool designed specifically for the purpose of virtual doctor visits.
What conditions will Virtual Visit cover?
Physicians providing video visits treat appropriate, simple, acute conditions that might otherwise be seen at walk-in centers and urgent care facilities. This includes cough, minor rash, indigestion, pink eye or a sinus infection. See a full list of conditions treated.
Who will perform video or phone visits?
Physicians and physicians assistants (PA’s) provide care via Access Connected Care Virtual Visit.
Is online medicine safe?
Yes. Guided by up-to-date clinical practice guidelines, and backed by decades of research and demonstrations, online visits are a HIPPA Compliant, safe and cost-effective way to extend the delivery of health care. Access Connected Care has produced a series of standards, guidelines and best practices for providers to ensure that they are using these online platforms responsibly. This means patients receive the same quality of care as they would during an in-office visit.
